Prayer House Ministries 

HISTORY 

      The birth of Prayer House Ministries was formed before the foundation of the world and first manifested itself in the heart of Pastor Billy J. King, Jr. prior to being founded by Pastor King in the earth realm.   

       The name “Prayer House Ministries” was revealed to Pastor King based on the Scripture, Isaiah 56:7, in which the word of God says, “Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer:  their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar: for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.” 

        During the initial organization of Prayer House Ministries and under his pastoral leadership, twelve members served with Pastor King in the beginning. On Friday, July 1, 2016, Pastor King was formally installed as Pastor of Prayer House Ministries during a 7:00 P.M. Pastoral Installation Service at Mt. Carmel Church Ministries, located at 1712 Chastang Avenue, Prichard, Alabama, under the pastorate of Apostle Carl D. Bolden. 

        Our first Worship Service was held on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, located at 1401 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama, and thereafter services were held at that location through October 30, 2016.  The original twelve members and family, friends and guests were in attendance and were blessed with a divine sermon as Pastor King preached on the subject “Connecting Something That Is Disconnected.”  His sermon text was Romans 10:9. 

         On October 17, 2016, Prayer House Ministries leased space at the Skyland Shopping Center, 1210 Azalea Road, Mobile, Alabama, for the purpose of holding its Services.  After a period of cleanup and preparing the space for services, we began holding services at our new location and continue to do so at the present time while waiting on God for the manifestation of the building/facility he has prepared for us, before the foundation of the world, to move into.  

          In an effort to continue its outreach mission, in November 2016, Prayer House Ministries adopted the Regional School for the Deaf and Blind, as well as the establishment of a Scholarship Fund. In March 2018, the first Ordination Service was held and certified that Minister Geral Mitchell and Pastor Chester Cromwell were solemnly and publicly set-apart and ordained to the Work of the Ministry. 

         Subsequent to its humble beginnings in July 2016, God has added to the Church such as He has called, and has equipped Prayer House Ministries with additional laborers who have a heart for God and are eager to serve the congregation and the community through ministers – Pastor Chester Cromwell (currently pastoring a church), Dr. Dorothy Williams, Prophetess Kimberly Holmes, Evangelist Dorothy Chambers, Minister Geral Mitchell, Minister Linda Poellnitz, and Minister Vanessa Chapman; and through ministries such as Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Youth Ushers Ministry, Singles Ministry, Senior Ushers Ministry, Marriage Enrichment Class, a Board of Directors, Deacon Board, Treasurer, Secretary, Music Ministry, Praise & Worship Ministry, Outreach Ministry, Tape Ministry, Golden-Age Seniors Ministry, Trustee Board, Scholarship Fund, Culinary Ministry, Video Ministry, and Photography/Media Ministry. 

          Under the guidance of Holy Spirit, the divine leadership of our pastor, Pastor Billy J. King, Jr., and the faithful followers at Prayer House Ministries, we continue to praise and thank God for empowering us to be His servants - set apart to win souls to the Kingdom of God in the name of Jesus! 

          Prayer House Ministries’ main objective is to lift up the name of Jesus so that souls would be won to the Kingdom of God!
